Cliche Guy Food #42

04-06-07_0254If you are familiar with The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, you may better understand the name of these delicious nuggets of ‘green vegetable’ surrounded by pork fat!!  There is this standard recipe among hunters that any game recipe that has cream cheese and is wrapped in bacon is ‘the best’!!  So for those health nuts among us, you can scroll on by.   John was playing around in the kitchen and came up with this combination.  He seeded and deveined the jalepenos so they were very mild…I would leave some of the veins to add spice, but I like it hot!

Whichever way you like it, the combination of flavors and crunch is delicious, just don’t even think about the calorie count!!  Maybe we need another category, snack seems too small.  “Answer to everything” might work!!04-06-07_0255

Recipe:

4 fresh jalepenos

1 TBS/ pepper cream cheese

4 slices of bacon

4 medium shrimp (approximately 1 for each pepper)

1 tsp.butter

1 tsp.soy

5 drops Worchestershire sauce

toothpick (remember to remove before serving)

garnish

Dice shrimp, saute in butter and garlic, add dash of soy, and worchestershire, cooking until shrimp are pink.  Mix with cream cheese.  Split jalepenos and seed and de-vein.  Stuff with shrimp/cream cheese mixture and wrap with bacon securing with toothpick.  Put wrapped peppers in skillet with enough hot oil to float them (350′ or bubbly) and then cook until bacon is done.  Drain on paper towels, garnish and serve immediately.
