fry-straviganza (wontons, empanadas, doughnuts)

The Denver bloggers had a fry party at their house this weekend, in which the hosts and guests bring all sorts of foods and we fry them up in a big turkey fryer over the course of an afternoon.  Not our usual trying-to-be-healthy fare, but it is a lot of fun and people can come up with some ...

world’s best chocolate cookies

I am not exaggerating when I say "world's best" on these cookies.  I made them for the first time about 6 months ago and just made them again this week for a party we had this weekend. They are really easy and they taste amazing! I got the recipe from Smitten Kitchen so unfortunately I can't ...

olive feta flatbread

This was one of those dishes that is simple to make, but ends up tasting so amazing you wonder why you never thought of it before! It is a great appetizer, side dish or even a light lunch or dinner.  We will be serving this at our next dinner party for sure.

Crumble some fresh feta cheese ...

veggie tofu pot

This was one of those meals that was last-minute, and included a large variety of foods from the fridge, but it ended up tasting really wonderful so I thought I'd share it.

Hoisin Pork Bowl

This recipe comes with a disclaimer. It was without a doubt in the top 5 of dishes I have ever made, Mike agrees. So if you make it and don't like it, please don't tell me. I might be forced to defend it fiercly and who really wants that? It started with a pork tenderloin slated for a pork ...

Step 2: Mince two or three cloves of garlic. Heat ...

Cheers to the 100th post!!

New Jersey chose to toast the moment with Sam Adams, Texas chose two of their favorites, sake and Tecate...and Denver, well Denver...is experiencing mild technical difficulties at the moment, so they'd like to send a virtual toast with Laura's Tikki Punch!

Here's to 100 more posts of ...

Better than Ben & Jerry’s

Nope, we didn't make these but we DID enjoy eating them! The packaging was too cool and the perfect serving size. These little guys were just right. The cone was a tad chewy, it didn't have the usual sugar cone crisp but the flavor was spot on. Gotta love Mitsuwa!
